This video and the patient testimonial below were recorded in Portuguese. A summary in English follows.
"Thirty years ago I had an implant done with the old method and it took 10 months. This time I arrived at the clinic at 9am and by 7pm I already had the fixed prosthesis ready, chewing normally."
What Ivanildo shares in the video
- About 30 years ago, he had an upper prosthesis placed with the old method: incisions, sutures and roughly 10 months until it was finished.
- He saw Dr. Hugo on social media talking about implants without incisions completed in one day, and booked a consultation.
- He arrived at 9am and, by 7pm, in three stages, already had the fixed prosthesis ready and was chewing.
- Today he eats everything, including hard foods like crispy pork crackling.
- He highlights the safety and attention of the team and says the treatment is worth every penny.
The clinical decision, in Dr. Hugo's words
"Ivanildo's case is special because he knew first hand what dentistry used to be like. Thirty years earlier he had gone through a conventional upper rehabilitation, with incisions, sutures and almost a year between surgery and the prosthesis.
At the first visit we did an intraoral scan and a 3D CT scan. With that data we planned the position, angulation and depth of each implant on the computer before surgery. That planning allowed us to carry out the case with guided surgery, without scalpel incisions.
With the implants well anchored and our in house laboratory working alongside the surgical center, we fabricated and installed the definitive fixed prosthesis on the same day. He arrived at 9am and left at 7pm with definitive fixed teeth, without going through a provisional prosthesis, already chewing."
